“You’re living in Cloud Cuckoo Land.”
- Cumulus Puff, 2011
Cloud Cuckoo Land is the community-focused performing arts festival in the Clouds, held on August 3rd, 4th and 5th 2012, somewhere over Somerset’s Mendip hills. Small in size, collectively organised and ecologically conscious, the Clouds is an unrealistically idealistic state of mind, where everything is perfect.
Cloud Cuckoo Land is a utopia first described in The Birds, a 2,500 year old play by Aristophanes in which “Mr. Trusting” and “Mr. Hopeful” erect a perfect city between the heavens and the Earth, to be called Cloud Cuckoo Land.
Today, the Clouds is home to a voluntarily small, not for profit performing arts festival. We’re commited to becoming one of the UK’s most ecologically conscious and community focused festivals in 2012, with plenty of help from our inspirational friends at Fernhill Farm and Sunrise Off-Grid.
