We’re delighted to announce that Cloud Cuckoo Land will be held on Fernhill Farm, BS40 6LD, an operational eco-farm near Cheddar Gorge, which has previously hosted Big Green Gatherings and is currently home to the inspirational Sunrise Off-Grid. There’ll be a whole host of eco-facilities for your enjoyment, including camping barns and wood-fuelled warm showers. Hurrah!
“Cloud Cuckoo Land is a community focused performing arts festival in the Clouds, somewhere over Somerset’s Mendip Hills.”
Good luck finding us.
Just in case you’re struggling, here are a few handy tips on how to locate our mythical utopia.
1) Cycle to the Clouds!
That’s right folks, in a bid to encourage cycle touring and discourage carbon emissions, our friends at Brake the Cycle will organise a FREE cycle scheme from Hamilton House, Bristol. With Fernhill’s operational eco farm just 15 miles outside the UK’s very first cycling city, they’ll provide tour guides and arrange luggage transfers. Sadly, they couldn’t be convinced to provide a complimentary tent pitching service. Lazy. Check ‘em out, ‘aving it large, on their recent End to End adventure…
We’re so keen to encourage cycling to Cloud Cuckoo Land, we’re even throwing in an ice cold pint on arrival, completely FREE of charge! Register your interest by emailing marcus@brakethecycle.org.uk. Tours will leave Bristol in small groups from midday or 6pm on Friday 5th August, returning on Sunday 7th at 6pm or Monday 8th at 10am.
2) Jump onboard a Festival Bus!
Another friend of Cloud Cuckoo Land, another exciting initiative helping to reduce our collective carbon footprint. Book a seat on our Big Red Bus services from London and Bristol below:
Buses will leave Hammersmith, London on Friday 5th at midday, returning on either Sunday evening or Monday morning, for just £25 return! How d’you like them apples, network rail? From Bristol, services will run from Colston Hall on Friday 5th at midday and 6pm, returning on Sunday or Monday, for a teeny tiny £12.50 return. That’s £12.50 return! Form an orderly queue folks…
3) Driving to Cloud Cuckoo Land.
Our beautiful site is easily accessible from Bristol, London, Bournemouth and Exeter. We’re on Cheddar Road, on top of the Mendip Hills, near Compton Martin. Here’s a handy link from our marvellous hosts at Fernhill Farm:

If you are driving to the Clouds, remember to put aside £10 for your car parking ticket. And if you have a spare seat in the back…
4) …Liftshare!
Because sharing is caring. Help us to minimise the gas we collectively guzzle and make a new friend (or friends!) by registering your spare seat via the lovely link below:
We promise you’ll feel warm and fuzzy. If you’re hitching a ride to the Clouds, why not chip in with petrol money to sweeten the deal? You could even make a mix tape for the drive. And since you mentioned mixtape champs, here’s one Friday night’s headliner Joe Driscoll made earlier.
5) Public Transport.
Not quite would it could be, unfortunately. Aim for Cheddar, using this handy link:
